L.I. Beaches: Which Are the Best

I have  been to 2 beaches on Long Island: Lido Beach and Jones Beach. If you have a choice between the two: go to Jones Beach. They let you surf, skim board and the life guards don’t scream at you when you mess up. Last Friday, I went to Lido and I wanted to use my new skim board.  When I went to use it, the lifeguard screamed at me that I was not allowed to do so.  I went back with my cousin, Kailey, to talk to the lifeguard to find out exactly what the rules were, and he told me I could not use the skim board on the beach until after 6pm.  What kid stays after 6pm????

The beach and salt air makes me hungry, so the consession stand is really important. At Jones Beach, their consession stand is open all hours. Lido’s  stand was closed when we were leaving the beach and wanted some ice cream at 5 o’clock. If you ask me, it is a horrible feeling when you really want some ice cream and you can’t get it.
